Kelly Smith

Hi, I’m Kelly, the founder of Hack My Hormones. I’ve always been passionate about health, fitness and finding balance in everyday life. I believe looking and feeling your best shouldn’t be boring or restrictive — it should be realistic, manageable and accessible to every woman, no matter where she’s starting from. My own journey hasn’t been simple. I grew up as the “chubby girl” with severe acne and zero confidence. I hid from cameras, struggled with binge eating, and used food as comfort when I felt like I didn’t fit in. A throwaway comment from someone calling me “chunky monkey” stayed with me for years. It pushed me into unhealthy patterns — shrinking myself to feel accepted, then being criticised for being “too skinny.” It taught me a painful but important lesson: people will always have an opinion, so the only one that truly matters is your own. With little money growing up, I couldn’t afford gyms or fancy foods, but I learned to take control of the choices I could make. I walked, I adjusted my portions, and I slowly built confidence. But it wasn’t until I met my husband Paul in 2011 that everything changed. He showed me that “skinny” isn’t the goal — health, strength, balance and living life fully are what truly matter. I began strength training, nourishing my body properly, and creating a lifestyle that allowed both discipline and enjoyment. I can meal prep, take my supplements, train consistently — and still go out for cocktails with my girlfriends without guilt. Balance is possible, and it’s transformational. Alongside this, I spent years battling hormone issues without real answers — chronic pain, fatigue, bloating, depression and constant unpredictability. In 2021, private testing finally gave me clarity: Endometriosis and low progesterone. From there, I took control with nutrition, fitness, supplements and biohacking. Bit by bit, I rebuilt my health. Now, I want to help other women do the same. Hack My Hormones is a community where women can feel safe, supported and understood. A place without judgement, pressure or comparison. A space to learn, reset, and build balance that works in real life — not a perfect one, a possible one. Hormones are powerful — they can make us laugh, cry and doubt ourselves all within minutes. Instead of suffering in silence, I want us to talk about them, understand them, and use that knowledge to feel our best again. This is where your journey with me begins, and I can’t wait to support you.
